I feel like could stroll the streets of San Francisco for days..and that’s exactly what we did for a few days in late October before jetting down Texas to explore Austin.
This city provides such a contrast to my regular locale, every time I visit it feels new and fresh to me again and we always manage to pack a lot into just a few days.
I usually don’t always love hauling around my camera when I travel but in this city it’s my favourite activity. Chasing that California light that paints the city in a deep tangerine in the early evening, that city light that strobes between buildings as the afternoon dips down toward dusk. Exploring quiet affluent neighbourhoods, houses altering in shape and colour, forming a rainbow of architecture in the classic Victorian style that is the signature of city. Jumping off the train at stops just to play with all leading lines and weird light. Touring around new areas like the Dogpatch where were the first patrons (it’s 5 o’clock somewhere) at their most excellent brewery.
We are also so lucky to have some local knowledge host us and surprise us every trip with new spots like underground jazz bars and rooftop cocktail joints, hole-in-the wall Chinese restaurants that serve blow your mind with pea shoot salads..the list goes on..so basically what I’m saying is that San Francisco never disappoints and I will be back.
