It's become quite common that our families live in opposite ends of the country if not the world. Families don't tend to stay in the same place as they once did back in the days of farming. With the new generations exploring the globe, our friends have become our families in more ways than not. Some people say that distance makes the heart grow fonder and I believe this is true. As I get older I miss my family more than ever and the nostalgia of home ways deep in my heart. If only the plane ride away wasn't as far or expensive, I know my heavy heart in seeing my grandparents age wouldn't be so heavy. At the end of the day, we all need to live our lives to the fullest and cherish our moments as they are happening and this moment for me will always be cherished.
Here is my 81 year old Nono reading the paper, telling me stories of how times have changed.
