Last year technology and I didn’t get along. I had a hard drive crash and then countless issues with a brand new computer that left me feeling defeated. I learned a lot through this process and had to encourage my patience to be more present then ever. Between borrowing friends lap tops to make deadlines and endless hours on the phone with tech support, it all slowly became normal again.
Before this all went down I had the opportunity to photograph my friend Kim in Victoria. She is a vibrant and creative soul who I admire greatly. Well… how does this all connect? I unfortunately lost the edits from this session not once, but twice. At the time I wasn’t saving my catalogs properly so I kept having to go back and reedit something I had already finished which can sometimes deflate the excitement. Now, almost a year later I finally revisited these images and was able to deliver them to her (thanks for your patience Kim!). I had so much fun exploring Victoria with her, finding walls and streams of light together. A new form of excitement came from these images and I wanted to take the time to share some. Just in time for the cherry blossoms to arrive again this year. #serendipity
So, the lesson is… back up your shit and forgive yourself when you get behind on your “to-do” list.
Check out Kim’s work here, she’s an incredible photographer!
